I want to back up the Sinumerik M GA3 (milling machine). I have all the necessary files but I can't transfer them (I use PCIN) on channel 1. The person who did the backup many years ago told me to try on channel 2 because channel 1 is for transferring work programs. I set bits 5019 and 5021 to 11000111 and 5024 to 00101000, but the channel change like 2 RTS LINE and 1 RTS LINE does not appear on the display. What is the bit line and what configuration does it have for this change? Thanks in advance for your help! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

we need make something clear , so we can work on the same page. #1--Data Back up and Data reload/restore --when we say back up , we transfer data from CNC RAM thru SW (PCIN) to the external PC saving to the HDD in PC. oppositely we call transfer back-uped data to from PC to CNC RAM, we call reload or data restore #2--on the 810M or 820M, when use transfer com (RS232) port, we don't call the channel 1 or 2, we call them interface-1 and interface-2, . Do you know in 810M there are 2 CNC channels, and channel-1 and channel-2 can run separate NC programs at the same time. so please use interface-1, and change setting data 5010,5011,5016 and so on, you can take picture or write down the original value of above setting data, when you job done, write them back. you can follow here Need to reload 810t with plc files and data etc., which you see I answered them

Hello ! The TEA1, TEA2, TOA, ZOA programs are easily transferred, the file type appears in DATENART. The @@@ST.S5D file can also be loaded only with STEP5 (nothing appears in DATENART). The same S5D file written in ASCII and the other similar files are transferred by PCIN (nothing appears in DATENART), but they are not saved, I tried DATA OUTPUT and got the confirmation. The same thing happens at different transfer rates 300 BAUD or 9600 BAUD . I don't want to upset you, the last reload was done on interface 2, the person who did the reload said it's better that way, no transmission errors occur, he changed a line of bits to activate interface 2, change 2 appeared on the monitor up and 1 down, with the mention that I use interface 1 only for transmitting work programs. Hello ! Thank you for your patience and help! I respected and followed the steps recommended by you. In the initial mode I transferred the TEA1 and TEA2 files (with the setting 5016=00101000 otherwise it does not work), I reset the power off/on and returned to the initial mode. With the setting 5010=00000100 I transferred with Step 5 the file @@@s5D. Continuing with PCIN with the same setting I tried to transfer the other files written in ASCII, PCIN shows that it is fully transferred, but it seems that they are not saved in the machine computer .The control panel of the machine has all the active functions, but the automation does not start.
