The SIWAREX U is a versatile weighing module for all simple weighing and force measuring tasks. It is either used centrally in a SIMATIC S7-300 or decentrally linked via PROFIBUS-DP to an S7-400, SIMATIC S5 or systems of other manufacturers. Examples of its uses include filling levels in storage silos and containers for monitoring crane loads, measuring conveyor belt loads, and as an overload protection for industrial lifts or mill trains. That means, anywhere, where weights need to be recorded and transferred to the automation system for processing as quickly as possible, with no bias and without the need for an additional interface.

The SIWAREX MS is a compact weighing electronics for the system S7-200 from SIMATIC. The data for the actual weight can be accessed directly in the SIMATIC CPU without the need for any additional interfaces. SIWAREX MS is the optimum solution wherever strain gauge sensors, such as load cells, force sensors or torque measuring shafts, are used for measuring tasks.

The Ex- interface is a barrier separating the load cells installed in the hazardous area from the weighing processors in the non-hazardous area according to the "intrinsically safe" type of protection. One version with IP54 (diecast housing) and two for switch cabinet assembly are available.

The SIWAREX modules U, CS, MS, FTC and FTA all have their own configuration packages.
Configuration packages PCS 7 are available for the weighing modules SIWAREX U, SIWAREX FTA and FTC.
SIWAREX MULTISCALE is a software package written in the STEP7 language AWL to support the configuration of batching plants. The SIWAREX MULTISCALE software package enables small and medium-sized batching plants to be configured rapidly and efficiently. SIWAREX MULTISCALE is compatible with the Simatic S7-300 and Simatic S7-400 automation systems, and supports the use of SIWAREX FTA as the proportioning weigher (SWE-fill operating mode) For the operating and monitoring functions, Series 270 or 370 SIMATIC HMI operator/touch panels can be used.
The SIWAREX MULTIFILL software supports parallel operation (bagging, filling, loading) of several scales (up to 16) in one automation system. All the scales can be operated by one operator with a control unit SIMATIC HMI e.g. TP170B. The software is open and extensively commented so that the user can change, extend and easily adapt the software to customers' wishes. SIWAREX MULTISCALE software is provided for operation in batching plants or mixers.
