 Boxes
of dry stems arrive at the warehouse with lids removed,
ready for processing. The stems are tipped and then classified
to remove heavies (stones, metal, etc.) prior to conditioning.
Once conditioned, the whole stems are transferred to
silos in preparation for the next stage of the process.
The OEM risk assessment requirements for many of
the machines, particularly the tipper unit and the
classifier airlock separator, dictate the use of
Category 3/4 safety devices. Siemens ASi-Safe and
Siguard safety-integrated systems greatly reduce
site wiring costs.
