The
main objectives in the cutting area are to
remove any metal before it reaches the cutter,
to cut blended strips, and to supply the
drying area with a constant flow of cut tobacco.
With our modular concept for component-based automation, it’s easy to integrate
all tobacco machinery into the overall architecture.
The
width of cuts must be exact. The cutter’s
local operator interface gives the operator
access to service routines, instructions, and
all set points for different blends. It also
provides control of the feed rate for both
the knife and grindstone.
The WinCC
flexible/Sm@rtService option for remote control, diagnostics, and maintenance
allows event-driven text messages and e-mails to be sent from the operator panel.
The
Siemens drives are integrated into the cutter’s
automation concept and connect to the controller
via PROFIBUS.
