Modular automated laboratory set-up

At A&D AS Solutions Process Industries, determination of the kinetics of a heterogeneous catalyzed reaction is carried out in a fully automated laboratory set-up. During the experiments, which may run over several weeks, the process parameters are controlled and changed automatically by a process control system (PCS). Simultaneously, information about reactivity and selectivity is collected from the analyzed product leaving the reactor and prepared for further evaluation.

The collected data are analyzed by kinetic modeling and parameter fit. From the results of this analysis, better parameters for the experiment are calculated. Through this procedure, reliable information about the optimum process parameters and achievable performance of the process is generated quickly at reasonable cost.
