Power MonitoringCountry-specific setting of the power monitoring for SITOP solar Outdoor The subject of power monitoring and automatic disconnection of small power input systems is handled differently in almost all countries for which photovoltaic is a realistic choice. For instance, in Germany, a very important criterion for detection of an island network is a change in power impedance. Other countries, however, do not allow power impedance to be measured. In view of this non-uniform situation, it had always been necessary to either offer different devices for different countries or to put up with the nuisance of parameterizing the inverter for the particular country with password-protected software. Simple commissioning With its new inverters, Siemens now offers for the first time a very easy way to make the country-specific settings of the power monitoring. Protection against accidental changes Once a country has been selected, a change can only be made via the RS 232 interface using the Siemens parameterization software.
