Selectivity and identification of faulty 24 V DC load circuits
The new selectivity module SITOP PSE200U and the diagnosis module SITOP select are the optimal addition to all 24 V DC power supplies. They distribute and monitor the load current over several current circuits. Overloads and short circuits on a circuit are reliably recognized.
The electronics permit brief current peaks and switch longer overloads off-circuit – even on long thin cables and with “creeping“ short circuits in which the current is limited by the high resistance. Miniature circuit breakers do not trip here or they trip too late, even if the power supply could provide the current. The expansion modules switch the faulty load feeder off reliably and supply to the remaining
loads continues completely interruption-free, so total failure of the plant can be avoided.
Detailed signaling permits quick fault localization - and minimization of down time. Since the other loads continue to be powered with 24 V DC, total plant failures are avoided. One DIN rail module monitors up to 4 load circuits which can be set individually
for monitoring currents up to 10 A.
The load circuits can be connected sequentially. The delay times between the outputs are adjustable at 0 ms, 25 ms or 100 ms, for each output alike. Through this the load on the power supply is reduced; it can possibly be dimensioned for lower requirements.
The new SITOP PSE200U selectivity module differs from the previous SITOP select diagnosis module as follows:
Larger current range thanks to two device versions with finer current setting:
6EP1961-2BA10, setting range 0.5...3 A
6EP1961-2BA20, setting range 3...10 A |
Remote reset for switching channels back in that have been disconnected from a central location |
Reset button for each channel |
Manual disconnection and switching in of individual channels via a reset button, e.g. for commissioning purposes (on SITOP select via a fuse)
Optimized display of operating status via 3-color LED with additional display of a manually disconnected channel |
Power-up sequence can be set via DIP switches; switches indicate the setting |
Cover on potentiometers and DIP switches prevents undesired parameter setting, sealing possible |
