Engineering Tools for control systems
With its consistency in configuring with the SIMATIC standard tools STEP 7,
CFC and SFC you exploit beside common data management and communication the
benefits of TIA: low engineering overhead when creating and maintaining

The SIMATIC Manager, included in the STEP 7 package, handles
the program- and project administration. The required hardware equipment to be
configured and parameterized is selected using the HW Config program,
which is part of the SIMATIC Manager.
The engineering editors CFC and SFC are used for the
object-oriented graphic programming or configuring.
- In the Continuous Function Chart the function
blocks are placed in the sheet and wired according to the technological tasks.
- For parts of the program with sequential operation,
switching from one program step to the next step depending on conditions, you
can use the Sequential Function Chart. With CFC created (technological)
functions are controlled and worked on selectively in the SFC program.
With the STEP 7/CFC/SFC - add-on D7-SYS you get from simple arithmetic,
communication, logic and closed-loop control function blocks to complexe
technological blocks for motion control (gear, positioning, cam disc, shear, and
many more) optimized function blocks for each application.
If all this is not enough, you can design your own function blocks in CFC plans
or you can simply convert "C"-programs with the function block generator
D7-FB-Gen.
