The high speed of innovation in the memory and processor sector would necessitate a continuous demand for information about the list of goods. For this reason, the German Federal Authority for Trade and Export Control has deposited a "Recoding Directory for the Export List" at the customs offices, the current version of which contains a statement concerning PCs on page 168. This states that digital computers (a definition that covers PGs/PCs) are not to be included in the Export List and are therefore exempt from export authorization,

if they do not contain encryption, are not protected against compromising radiation, and do not exceed the following limit values:
1.	at an "adjusted peak performance" (APP) of less than 0.75 weighted Teraflops (WT), (e.g. all Pentium types, 80486, all MPC types and 21164 types (Alpha chip series))"
2.	with communication equipment not included in items 4A003g or 5A002 of the Export List

This and the next page of this recoding directory also stipulate that all printers, plotters, screens and monitors, digitizers, mice and trackballs, scanners and barcode readers as well as keyboards and light pens, disk memories and central storage (if a spare part of an embargo-exempt computer) are not to be included in the Export List. Since these directories are available at all Customs Offices, it is not necessary to present your own information on the list of goods in order to facilitate export.
