[ High-precision cutting machines ] - [ Circuit board manufacture ] - [ Aircraft parts processing center ]

For high-precision cutting machines too:
the name of the ideal solution is WinAC

High-precision cutting machines from Meyer and Burger of Switzerland cut everything - even silicon boards for making solar cells. Therefore PC-based Automation with SIMATIC WinAC is used. After all, PC-typical tasks such as data procesing, visualization and communication crop up in addition to typical control tasks. WinAC produced excellent results especially in the realtime behavior and availability. Meyer and Burger will therefore continue to use Siemens PC-based Automation in future projects.

Circuit board manufacture with a precision guarantee

The manufacture of circuit boards places high demands on the technological know-how. Automatech, one of the leading manufacturers of circuit boards in France (for example for 40% of all notebooks and 50% of all cell phones made in Europe) has relied on Siemens as an automation partner for a long time. And today, with PC-based Automation, is placing its trust in a concept which rises to the challenges of the future. The integrated solution also includes motion control, industrial image processing and visualization in addition to control and regulation of the laser process.

Aircraft parts processing center -
Siemens PC-based Control is widely accepted by customers

Droop + Rein in Bielefeld specializes in processing centers for large aircraft parts. Here, several CNC machines are coordinated by a control system. Since a PC is required anyway for the information, operation and management system, the software PLC runs on this too. One of the reasons for choosing WinAC was the saving on hardware costs. The engineering consultants DS Technologies mention another argument: "We reckon with a higher customer acceptance for a Siemens PC-based Automation solution than for products of another manufacturer. After all, most commissioning technicians and service staff are very familiar with STEP 7."
