Sonar Proximity Switches SIMATIC PXS
Sonar proximity switches ensure non-contact
sensing
with millimeter precision in the range from 6 cm to 10 m.
Principle: Sonar proximity switches transmit ultrasonic pulses; when
reflected by objects or surfaces, the echoes can be received by the proximity
switch and
the distances calculated and converted to an output signal. Sonar proximity
switches feature large sensing distances up to 10 meters, high accuracy in
the
millimeter
range, good reproducibility and require little maintenance.
Sensing is not affected
by dust and contamination common in harsh industrial environments. Liquids can
be sensed with the same precision as solids, granulates or powders. Sonar proximity
switches are suitable for a wide range of applications, such as level measurement,
position detection, limit detection, thickness measurement and stack height measurement. |
