| | Profinet link for Sinamics G120 | Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) adds the Control Unit (CU) with Profinet interface to its modular series of Sinamics G120 frequency converters. This means the Sinamics G120 converter series can now also be used in complex automation architectures which require real-time Ethernet.
With its new control module, the Sinamics G120 CU 240S PN, Siemens A&D is extending its Sinamics drive series to cover the power range between 0.37 kW and 90 kW and the voltage range between 380 V and 690 V. The Profinet link will therefore be available for complex systems. This will allow integrated communication from the office to the field level. In addition, the Sinamics G120 has the CU 240S DP and CU 240S control units as Profibus communication interfaces with Profidrive Profil 4.0 or with RS485.
The control units and the power modules of the Sinamics G120 converter series have been designed as separate, replaceable functional units and can be combined as required to make the desired converter. Engineering and commissioning are performed as usual with the Sizer and Starter tools.
