SINAMICS G120 Chassis Units
Offer a Comprehensive Range of Power Modules for All Drives Applications
Power Modules PM240
PM240 Power Modules have an integrated braking chopper. Loads
can dynamically braked using an external braking resistor (as option available).
The DC link has a adequate DC link capacitance, this means that with the PM240
Power Module a sufficient control range is available to control the DC link voltage.
This allows certain applications to be easily implemented. These applications
include, for example, kinetic buffering or using the kinetic energy of the load
to implement a controlled stop when the power fails.
Power Modules PM250 and PM260
The PM250 and PM260 Power Modules extend the modular range of SINAMICS G120 products
and in conjunction with the Control Units CUs (all Control Units can be combined
with the PM250 and PM260).
Power Module PM250 will be introduced for the
following voltage:
3-ph. 380-480V AC ±10%
Power Module PM260 will be launched for the following voltage:
3-ph. 660-690V AC ±10%
 As
a result of the innovative circuit concept, the kinetic energy of a load can
be fed back into the line supply. With its regenerative feedback capability (energy
recovery) the PM250 power module series offers enormous energy-saving potential
and contrary to the PM240 Power Module the regenerative energy is no longer
converted into heat in a braking resistor. The PM260 Power Module series further
distinguishes itself as a result of a higher standard clock frequency and an
integrated sinusoidal output filter.
Benefits of the PM250 in Comparison to PM240
Benefits for the OEM:
| 1. |
As a result of the
regenerative feedback capability of the Power Module in the regenerative mode
(electronic braking) energy is fed back into the line supply – and is
no longer wasted in a braking resistor. This saves space and also eliminates
the tedious dimensioning of the braking resistor as well as the wiring. Further,
it also reduces the amount of heat in the electrical cabinet (lower temp. rise). |
| 2. |
It is no longer necessary to tediously
dimension and connect-up the DC link coupling. |
| 3. |
This innovative circuit ensures that fewer harmonics are fed
back into the line supply. It is no longer necessary to use an optional reactor
at the line supply input. This saves space for the panel builder and costs when
engineering and purchasing the components. |
Benefits for end users:
| 1. |
The regenerative feedback
capability of the Power Module offers customers enormous energy-saving potential.
The energy generated in regenerative operation is fed back into the line supply. |
| 2. |
The customer neither has to pay for braking resistors nor line
reactors. |
Additional Benefits of the PM260
Benefits for the OEM:
| 1. |
The PM260 has an integrated sinusoidal filter.
This saves the panel builder the mounting/installation and wiring of an optional sinusoidal filter
and therefore space and wiring costs. |
Benefits for end customers:
| 1. |
The integrated sinusoidal output
filter ensures a clean sinusoidal current at the drive converter output and allows
power cable lengths of up to 200 m shielded and 300m non-shielded. Further, lower
bearing currents occur – this reduces the stress on the motor. |
| 2. |
The standard 16 kHz clock cycle frequency ensures low-noise
operation. |
| 3. |
The innovative SiC semiconductor technology ensure that the
drive converter, with the same power rating, is more compact than a comparable
standard drive converter with optional sinusoidal filter. |
