| Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) has developed a new 5 megapixel display for medical applications requiring outstanding picture quality. The new SMD 21510 D, a 21-inch monochrome display, is ideally suited for mammography diagnosis and PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) applications. The integrated "Fully Automated Stability" system ensures reliably verified grayscale response and continuous luminance levels. The new medical display can be used with a number of standard or high performance graphic cards of the latest generation.

Both cable-based connection and W-LAN communication can be used for this purpose.

| Antitrust authorities approve acquisition of UGS Corp. by Siemens |
| Following standard antitrust investigations, the European Commission has approved unconditionally the acquisition of UGS Corp. by Siemens AG. As a result, the US software company can now be integrated as ´UGS PLM Software´ division into the Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) Group. Siemens expects to close the acquisition by early May. The US antitrust approval by the Federal Trade Commission was already issued in February 2007. The total purchase price agreed with the previous owner of UGS Corp., Bain Capital, Silver Lake Partners und Warburg Pincus, amounts to USD 3.5 billion including assumption of existing debt.

| With its "small" Siplace D2 and D1 machines, Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) completes its Siplace D platform, which was introduced in 2006 and has already been honored with several awards. The new machines are particularly suited for environments with medium-sized placement volumes and high quality and flexibility requirements. The European premiers of the new models, which start shipping in April 2007, will take place on the SMT Hybrid Packaging (April 24-26, 2007) in Nuremberg.

| "Innovation is our response to the global challenges of the future", Prof. Hermann Requardt, member of the Corporate Executive Committee of Siemens AG and President of Siemens Corporate Technology, stated at a press conference held on the opening day of Hanover Fair. 50,000 employees in Research and Development (R&D) are working on complex, interdisciplinary technologies of the future. Electrical engineering has an important role, if not the key role, here. Prof. Klaus Wucherer, member of the Corporate Executive Committee of Siemens AG emphasized the increasing significance of micro-scale and nano-technology as well as IT and communication technology for the manufacturing industry. Wucherer outlined the path towards the ´Intelligent Factory´ as an example of the long-term innovation strategy at Siemens.

"Besides the advances in automation, it is also legal rules and regulations in the field of environmental protection, along with the rising cost of raw materials and energy that are promoting the shift in industry", stated Joergen Ole Haslestad, President of the Siemens Industrial Solutions and Services Group (I&S). In 2006, I&S generated sales of approx. 1.5 billion euros selling plants, products and solutions for the protection of the environment and the efficient use of resources. Said Haslestad: "In the environmental balance, the industry is making progress mainly by applying new processes that optimize the entire value chain."

| At this year's Hannover trade fair, Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) will be demonstrating its Drive Control Chart (DCC) for complete graphic programming of technological functions for the Simotion Motion Control system and the Sinamics S120 drives series. With DCC, function blocks with multi-instance capability from a standard library are linked to each other and parameterized graphically. The technical closed-loop control structures are clearly displayed in the process. The user is thus provided with new ways of easily adapting Simotion and Sinamics to the specific functions of a machine.

| Siemens Automation and Drives becomes worldwide first supplier of software and hardware across the complete lifecycle of products Siemens moves to expand its industrial software portfolio through a definitive agreement to acquire UGS Corp., Texas, USA, a worldwide leading provider of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software and services. The agreement was made between Siemens and the current owners Bain Capital, Silver Lake Partners and Warburg Pincus. The purchase price amounts to US $3.5 billion, including assumption of existing debt. The activities of UGS are to be assigned to the Siemens Automation and Drives Group (A&D). A&D will thus become the first supplier for the manufacturing industries to provide an end-to-end software and hardware portfolio encompassing the complete lifecycle of products and production facilities. The transaction is subject to the approval by the relevant authorities.

Opto-Controls technologically leading inspection systems are fully automated and use the latest 3-D sensor technology to detect any solder or placement flaws with exceptional speed.

| Emerson Process Management and Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) announced today their expansion of system interfaces to enable both companies to expand support of global fieldbus standards. The companies will exchange technology and engineering support to add the interfaces that extend their systems and software to offer customers expanded global interoperability and greater functionality. First products are expected to be available mid-2007.The cooperation grew out of the work both companies have done with user-supplier consortiums to deliver fully open and interoperable field instrumentation and electric drives using the newly enhanced global standard Electronic Device Description Language (EDDL).

| Eastime Automation Engineering Co., Ltd. and Siemens have signed an agreement whereby Siemens is to acquire the business activities of Eastime Automation Engineering, Shanghai, China. Eastime Automation Engineering, a leading company in China for engineering and project manage¬ment in process analytics, has more than 30 employees and is active especially in chemicals, petrochemicals, and the iron and steel sector. The takeover is planned for August 2006 when the company is to change its name to Siemens Process Analytics Ltd., Shanghai (SPAS) and become integrated in to the Automation and Drives Group of the regional company Siemens Ltd. in China.

| CNC solutions for mechanical equipment manufacturers and users |
| CNC solutions for the workshop, automation concepts in machine tool building and mold making, as well as services covering all aspects of machine tools - these are the focal points of the presentation by Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) at this year's Metav trade show in Düsseldorf, Germany. With ShopMill and ShopTurn, Siemens will present user-friendly programming and operator interfaces for CNC turning and milling machines for medium-sized users. Center stage is also occupied by a comprehensive portfolio of tools, comprising Mechatronic Support, Virtual Production, Sinumerik Machine Simulator and Virtual NC Core for simulation in machine design or for optimizing programs and workpieces.
