| | Geared motors now generate a torque of up to 20,000 newton meters | Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) is expanding its range of geared motors with single-stage worm geared motors and helical geared motors. Thanks to their compact design and high power density, the new devices are especially suitable for conveying systems and for all areas of mechanical engineering, such as belt drives or gravity roller tables.
The single-stage worm geared motor consumes only a small amount of energy but is highly efficient and works with a maximum torque of 150 newtons. The new geared motors do not require any oil and are available as various top-mounted versions. The single-stage helical geared motor supplements the range of two-stage and three-stage geared motors for higher output speeds and torque ranges from 82 to 1550 newtons.
In addition, the torque range of all the helical, helical bevel and flat gearboxes from Siemens A&D has been increased up to 20,000 newtons. With more flexible connecting and fastening dimensions, flange and shaft diameters of several sizes can be connected to the geared motors. The complete range of Siemens geared motors will be presented during the SPS/IPC/Drives fair 2004 in Nuremberg.
