With two new communication modules, the RFID systems from Siemens can be oper- ated at PROFINET communication networks. With the module SIMATIC RF180C, the read/write devices are connected directly to the PROFINET; with the SIMATIC RF170C, the connection takes place via the distributed I/O station SIMATIC ET 200pro.

The new version of the vision sensor SIMATIC VS120 for the object search and inspection has been simplified in the areas of configuration as well as expanded concerning the analysis and communication possibilities. The communication is now also possible via PROFINET I/O.

SIMATIC VS130-2 is a modular code reading system for 1D and 2D codes. Printed, lasered, drilled, punched and needle imprinted codes on a wide variety of surfaces can be read. The VS130-2 also uses print-quality monitoring (verification) of the codes for process control. All operations are carried out at the unit, but remote control is also possible via PROFINET.

The stationary 1D/2D code reading system SIMATIC MV440 impresses customers with highly reliable reading and a wide range of different communication and connection possibilities. It is designed for reading Data Matrix Codes, e.g. DPM (Direct Part Marking), under difficult environmental conditions in industrial applications. Flexible lighting options and compact size allow the MV440 to be used in many industrial applications, for example, in the automobile, packaging, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and electronics industries as well as in the food and beverages sector. The SIMATIC MV440 has integrated interfaces to Profinet IO, Industrial Ethernet and RS232. For connection to the Profibus DP, a communication module is needed.
