The standard CP 343-1 is used to connect the SIMATIC S7-300 and the SINUMERIK 840D powerline to Industrial Ethernet In addition to communication with other Ethernet stations, the CP as PROFINET IO controller and now also as IO device connects distributed I/O modules.

Furthermore, you can poll the diagnostics buffer entries of the modules of the rack where the CP is connected.
