Power Monitoring

Country-specific setting of the power monitoring for SITOP solar Indoor

The subject of power monitoring and automatic disconnection of small power input systems is handled differently in almost all countries for which photovoltaic is a realistic choice. For instance, in Germany, a very important criterion for detection of an island network is a change in power impedance. Other countries, however, do not allow power impedance to be measured. In view of this non-uniform situation, it had always been necessary to either offer different devices for different countries or to put up with the nuisance of parameterizing the inverter for the particular country with password-protected software.

Simple commissioning

With its new inverters, Siemens now offers for the first time a very easy way to make the country-specific settings of the power monitoring.
When the inverter is commissioned for the first time after it leaves the plant, the display of the master offers a selection for the particular country of use. Currently the inverter can be parameterized so that it meets the individual standards of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy or Spain. Immediately after commissioning, "ENS-Setup" appears on the display. By pressing the button you can page through the available country-language combinations. A selection is made by pressing the button for at least 5 seconds.

Protection against accidental changes

Once a country has been selected, a change can only be made via the RS 232 interface using the Siemens parameterization software. After the country has been selected, the standby display indicates the country abbreviation (e.g., "SITOP solar CH" for Switzerland). This means that you can always tell which country-specific power monitoring is currently being used on the inverter.
