SIPLUS DCF77

The SIPLUS DCF77 radio clock module is used to provide the SIMATIC/SIPLUS S7-200/300/400 with the official time from time signal transmitter DCF77. The internal real-time clock of the S7 can be synchronized with the DCF77 time signal.

Located in Mainflingen near Frankfurt/Main, the atomic clock-based DCF77 transmitter is operated by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt in cooperation with the German TELEKOM. The signal can be received within a 2000km radius around Franfurt/Main.

Reception of the time signal utilizes the DCF77 receiver (antenna with electronics), connected via two digital inputs to the SIMATIC/SIPLUS S7, as well as the software driver included in the package (functional module FB).
