Integration of an AS-Interface field bus into PROFINET
using IE/AS-i LINK PN IO
Configuration 7 uses the HMI and STEP 7 functions to implement
the diagnostic functions via PROFINET and AS-Interface. Moreover,
the AS-Interface slaves can be visualized and controlled
by means of a simulation interface.
Using this Configuration, complicated cable harnesses can be
replaced by a single cable at the actuator-sensor level.

Industrial Wireless LAN using RCoax in PROFINET IO environment
The Configuration 6 brochure shows a solution based on conventional net technology has been enlarged and modernized by replacing an existing PROFIBUS connection with slip rings by a moving station, integration PROFIBUS slaves into the PROFINET IWLAN concept with PROFINET IO and an integration a PROFINET IO device over IWLAN.
Basic prerequisite is compliance with real-time requirements (RT) common to IWLAN systems in distributed I/Os even under unfavorable radio environments.
