SCALANCE X-200IRT Product Line
To cover all automation requirements, SIMATIC NET with SCALANCE 200IRT offers the the first Industrial Ethernet real-time switch with innovated housing concept and integral ERTEC (Enhanced Real-Time Ethernet Controller). Response times can be achieved using standard components which correspond to the performance of current fieldbus systems. High-performance, isochronous Motion Control applications can be implemented with IRT. In addition to the proven industrial features of the SCALANCE X-200 product range, the SCALANCE X204IRT switch includes an integral redundancy manager.

With the
SCALANCE X201-3P IRT, the
SCALANCE X202-2P IRT, and the
SCALANCE X200-4P IRT, the first Industrial Ethernet real-time switches with integrated ERTEC exist and the POF/PCF fiber-optic interface standardized with PROFINET.
By using the "cut through" switching mechanism, these switches are ideal for meeting the real-time requirements of PROFINET.

With the different combinations of
electrical RJ45 ports and
optical SC RJ ports, these switches are ideal for setting up Industrial Ethernet star, linear, and ring topologies with reconfiguration times of < 300 ms (integrated redundancy manager). At the fiber-optic interface, the SIMATIC NET POF and PCF cables can be connected by means of the respective SC RJ Plugs.

For industrial applications, the IP30 devices feature a rugged metal housing that can be mounted onto S7 DIN rails or standard rails. Direct wall mounting is also possible. The devices feature a redundant power supply and an industry-standard, PROFINET-compliant user terminal. The RJ45 plugs are latched onto the housing and thus provide additional bending and strain relief for the connection.
