With SCALANCE X200, the configuration data are automatically saved on a Configuration Plug (C-PLUG). When a failed device is replaced, the C PLUG need only be plugged into the replacement device. The replacement device uses the same device configuration as the device that was removed.

The SCALANCE X204-2 Industrial Ethernet switch, with its four electrical ports and two optical ports, is optimally suited for the configuration of optical line or ring structures. It can also be used in ring structures for the transition of electrical to optical routes.
The SCALANCE X206-1 Industrial Ethernet switch, with its six electrical ports and one optical port, is optimally suited for the configuration of star structures. It can also be used in ring structures as a transition from electrical to optical routes.
