The TIM 3V-IE Advanced is a module for the SIMATIC S7-300 that can be flexibly connected to any SINAUT network. Compared to the
TIM 3V-IE, it offers a considerably extended quantity framework, both with regard to the number of possible connections as well as number of data message frames that can be stored. Furthermore, both interfaces of the TIM can be used simultaneously for SINAUT communication, and it can be combined with many different components.

Telecontrol based on SINAUT communication can be implemented simultaneously via the RS232 interface and RJ45 interface. This functionality permits redundant telecontrol paths and subsequent expansions are possible. The setup of a simple submaster station with only one TIM 3V-IE Advanced is also possible: It handles communication with the lower-level stations through a WAN interface, and communication with the control center through the second WAN interface.

When setting up a SIMATIC S7-300 as telecontrol center or substations, several TIMs are frequently combined to implement the required scope of communication paths and transmission types. In this case as well, the TIM 3V-IE Advanced can be ideally used, since it can be flexibly combined in groups with TIM 4R-IE and the predecessor types TIM 3/TIM 4 in an S7-300.
