SNMP OPC Server

The SNMP OPC server software supports diagnosis and parameterization of any SNMP devices. Data transfer with these devices is processed by the OPC server using SNMP protocol. All information can be integrated into OPC- compatible systems such as the HMI system WinCC. Combined process and network diagnostics is therefore possible in the HMI system.

Integrated into STEP7
Configuration of the OPC server is integrated into STEP 7 hardware configuration. S7 modules already configured in the STEP 7 project can be directly loaded. As an alternative to STEP 7, configuring can also be performed with NCM PC (component of SIMATIC NET CD).
Fast online configuring through "Autodiscovery"
In Step7 V5.3+SP3 and higher, any Ethernet devices can be detected through their IP address and/or through the SNMP protocol (SNMP V1) and can be loaded into the configuration. The SIMATIC NET SNMP OPC server also offers detection of PROFINET devices by means of the DCP protocol.

  • PROFINET devices e.g. ET200 S

All TCP/IP devices, also those that do not support SNMP, such as old PCs, SIMATIC S5 (CP1430 TCP) etc. can be monitored.

With SIMATIC PCS 7, maintenance and diagnostics statuses of the hardware components (assets) in use are displayed in a faceplate with different views of the respective components. The information for PCs and Ethernet network components is provided via the SNMP OPC server.
