The customer:
Canal de Isabel II is a public company of the community of Madrid. It supplies, treats and distributes the drinking water to the city. Further, it purifies the waste water.
The company supplies 6 millions inhabitants of the community with water. The greatest challenges that the company faces are the huge seasonal and systematical fluctuations in the water availability that are due to the extremely irregular and fluctuating annual rainfalls.

The challenge:
Migration of the stations from S5 to S7
Migration of the SIMATIC S5 stations with SINAUT ST1 protocol to SIMATIC S7 stations with SINAUT ST7 protocol via an IP-based network
Implementation of a monitoring and diagnosis system based on ST7cc and WinCC in the SINAUT ST7 stations
Connection of Ethernet network via TIM4R-IE to the Control Center
Protection of the new network structure with the help of SCALANCE S612 modules
