Corrective maintenance Report, locate, and eliminate faults quickly SIMATIC PDM – diagnostics and parameterization tool for field instrumentation PDM is an engineering, startup, and runtime tool for more than 1,000 field devices from over 150 manufacturers. The devices are described by the manufacturers in text files with EDDL (Electronic Device Description Language standardized in EN 50391 and IEC 61804 PAS). Devices can be configured in networks or automatically generated, parameterized, calibrated, diagnosed, and monitored using a life list. As well as reading out of the current device status, diagnostics analyses can be presented in different overviews. The entire life cycle of the devices is supported, from startup and runtime in the plant, through maintenance in the workshop, to management in the warehouse. SIMATIC PDM can be integrated into STEP 7 / PCS 7 and it can be used as a stand-alone tool for field instrumentation.
