Increased plant availability

The SIMOREG CCP (Converter Commutation Protector) is used to protect a line-commutated SIMOREG DC-MASTER converter in inverter mode.
In the event of a commutation failure, a large current is generated in the power supply system in feedback direction, or a transverse current in the converter. The converter commutation protector limits these currents to a harmless value and so protects fuses and thyristors. And eliminates the expensive and timeconsuming need to replace such fuses following a commutation failure. Plant availability is therefore significantly increased.
