Rugged construction for use in industry 
The dual-wall construction and the round form of the housing make the Mobile Panels exceptionally stable.They incur no damage even after falling from a height of 5 feet. The stop button is provided with a special "protective shroud". Unintentional release of this safety function and the risk of destruction, even if the Mobile Panel is dropped, are thus minimized. 
With their dust-proof and jet-water-proof housing of degree of protection IP 65 SIMATIC Mobile Panels are designed to meet rough industrial conditions.The entire system, including connection box and connection cable, meets high demands for ruggedness.

Perfected safety concept
The Mobile Panel has two enabling buttons, each with three switch positions to ensure the protection of personnel and machine in critical situations.The enabling buttons are integrated in the handle at the back.All safety-relevant elements are implemented twice in accordance with safety standards.
Device models 2 and 3 of the Mobile Panel 177 possess a two-circuit stop pushbutton, which can be looped into an emergency shutdown circuit and be force-locked upon activation.

Efficient configuring with SIMATIC WinCC flexible compact
SIMATIC Mobile Panels, with their mobile operating capability,complement the SIMATIC HMI family of stationary Panels. A complete product line ready to meet all HMI needs is now available. 
All new SIMATIC operating units are configured with the Windows-based configuration software WinCCflexible .The Mobile Panel 177 can be configured with the help of low-priced WinCC flexible compact package.

Easy data exchange via Multi Media Card (MMC)
Safe yet easy to access the Multi Media-Card slot is placed inside the bottom of the device for easy backup and restore of configuration and user data as well as download of recipes.
