"All requirements properly harnessed in the conduit" -  Standardized automation package for Tehalit
	Two-thirds of Germany's and a majority of Europe's cable conduits used for electrical installations originate from Tehalit GmbH & Co. KG, Heltersberg (Germany). An older extrusion line with many years of operation was experiencing increased controller malfunctions, and problems with the spare parts supply began to emerge. As a result, the production management sought a technically and economically feasible alternative - preferably a manufacturer-independent solution that could be standardized and transferred to others of the 30 extrusion lines from different manufacturers at tehalits production plant.
	At that moment Siemens A&D came out with a standardized "extrusion package", which contains all the hardware and software components for an efficient operation of tube and profile extrusion systems and is largely preconfigured. For HMI  tasks the customer can choose between a Panel PC 670 or a Multi Panel MP 370 Touch, which tehalit preferred. The package proved to be an excellent solution for the comprehensive retrofit as well as a basis for further standardisation in future projects.   Download of case study approx. 0.1 MB, published in ideas 3/2003
