"Virtual technology- real benefits "- Thin-Clients for the monitoring of molding processes at Airbus Industries

The Airbus site in Laupheim, Germany is an integral part of the “Cabin &Cargo and Customization” center of competence, which deliver complete cabin and cargo interiors for the entire Airbusfleet. Airbus parts manufactured at the Laupheim facility include sidewall and ceiling panels, hat rack systems as well as door and door frame panels. To ensure a high uniform level of parts quality, and to be able to document them over many years, compliance of the pressure and temperature control parameters at the presses must be accurately recorded and archived for ten years. Precision in production also for the cabin interior at Airbus Industries
Thus, HMI system reliability is of particular importance. Previously, WinCC ran on PCs installed as single station on-site systems. They simultaneously managed the recipes for the various formed parts and acted as servers for higher level clients. The need for increased availability prompted an innovative solution which ultimately brought with it a whole series of additional benefits: the use of virtual servers accessible with the aid of conventional, competitively priced and robust thin clients.
