Adressing Units

All devices in the AS-Interface network must be addressed in order to be able to exchange data with the master. This means that the devices must be assigned an address value. This can be realized offline using the addressing unit or online using the AS-Interface master. Addresses have values of between 1 and 31 or 1A to 31A and for the extended address mode, 1B to 31B. A new slave has the address 0. Using the addressing unit, it is also possible to read and write slave data offline – such as the slave profile, ID codes, parameters (e.g. for analog slaves).
