The new TP177B and OP177B are now available!

The TP177B and OP177B are small but powerful devices based on a new innovated hardware platform and are the successor products for the successful TP170B, OP170B and OP17 product variants.

Overview

  • 4 device variants, mono / colour touch screen with / without membrane keyboard
  • Onboard interfaces for Serial/PPI/MPI/Profibus/PROFINET networking to PLCs
  • Configurable with WinCC flexible Compact 2005 or higher

Features

The TP177B variants offer new graphical, communication and functional possibilities. An overview of some of the highlights:
  • 5.7" graphical touch display
  • 4 blue levels (mono variant) / 256 colours (colour variant)
  • Compact space saving design (TP177B installation dimensions same as TP170B)
The OP177B variants offer new graphical, operational, communication and functional possibilities. An overview of some of the highlights:
  • 5.7" graphical touch display with membrane keyboard
  • 4 blue levels (mono variant) / 256 colours (colour variant)
  • Compact space saving design
    (OP177B installation dimensions same as OP17)
  • 32 membrane keys that can be freely configured
Both the TP177B and OP177B have the following features:
  • Vector graphics for improved screen designs
  • Integrated 12Mbit/s MPI / Profibus interface
  • Integrated Profinet interface on colour device variants providing
    • Profinet communication to PLCs
    • Profinet IO capability
      (with WinCC Flexible 2005 SP1 - end 2005)
    • Use of WinCC Flexible Sm@rtService and Sm@rtAccess runtime options
  • Larger user memory (2 MB), enabling larger configurations
  • 5 online languages, including Cyrillic and Asian
  • Maintenance free alarm buffer (without battery and failsafe)
  • USB interface for printer, keyboard etc...
  • New functions within the scope of the WinCC flexible configuration software
    • WinCC Flexible 2005 or higher is required
    • WinCC Flexible Compact, Standard and Advanced can be used
    • TP170 / OP170 projects in Protool can be easily converted to WinCC Flexible
    • TP170 / OP170 projects can be simply reused in WinCC Flexible (by means of device switch)
    • OP17 projects in Protool can be converted to WinCC Flexible(Some rework of graphics will be needed to suit new larger display size)

Succession products

The TP177B and OP177B are successor products for the very successful TP170B, OP170B and OP17 HMI panels. The most direct replacement for each device (installation cutout, functional scope, screen type) is shown below:
  • OP17 -> OP177B DP (mono) or OP177B DP/PN (colour)
  • OP170B -> OP177B DP (mono) or OP177B DP/PN (colour)
  • TP170B mono -> TP177B DP (mono)
  • TP170B colour -> TP177B DP/PN (colour)
No AS511 TTY interface is present on the new OP177B and TP177B devices. Therefore if connection is required to S5 PLCs, Profibus DP is the alternative connection still available.

If RS232 connection to 505 or 3rd party controllers is needed, then use of a RS485/RS232 converter is required.
