Siemens Crane group recently delivered the electrics for seven twin-lift ship-to-shore post-panamax cranes built by ZPMC of Shanghai, PR China, for Patrick, one of Australia's container terminal operators. The high productivity twin-lift cranes cut an impressive sight on the waterfront of Australia's state capital cities.

The contract involved supply, engineering, manfacture and commissioning of the electrics from the 6.6kV incoming switchgear through to AC drives and motors together with the PLC & SCADA equiipment. A feature of the cranes is the TOUCHMATIC driver enhancement control enabling stress free, automatic positioning of the container from pick-up to put-down points.

Siemens Australia engineers were involved in the project carrying out final commissioning of the cranes at Patrick Terminals located in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle.

Siemens Crane group is currently delivering two further crane projects in Australia for Patrick and DPW (formerly P&O Ports) respectively.
