Siemens factory receives Supply Chain Management AwardThe equipment manufacturing plant Erlangen (GWE) of the Siemens Group Automation and Drives (A&D) was presented with the Supply Chain Management Award 2007 in mid-November. The price awards outstanding performance in organizing the flow of goods during the production process. The Supply Chain Management Award is presented by the Institute for Production Management (IPM) in Hanover (Germany) and the international company consultants PRTM Management Consultants. The price award ceremony took place at a symposium entitled "Productivity Factor Supply Chain Management" in Erlangen (Germany). As Dr. Geissbauer, Director of PRTM (on the right in the photo), commented: "To achieve the company goals, the supply chain management plays an important role. In this field, Siemens achieves a top performance. First-class key data, high flexibility in production and in particular the distinctive customer focus of the Company have convinced the panel of experts awarding this price."
