The SIMATIC IPC427C is the powerful, fanless embedded industrial PC for DIN rail, wall or book mounting. It has long-term availability and is ideal for the space-saving implementation of highspeed MSR, HMI and communication tasks in the immediate vicinity of the machine.

For high performance and robustness in maintenance-free continuous operation 24 hours a day at ambient temperatures of up to 55 °C, it is equipped with:

• Intel processors up to Core2 Duo
• DDR3 memory technology up to 4 GB
• Integrated Intel GMAX4500 Graphics Media Accelerator
• Intel high-performance SATA solid-state drive SSD type "Extreme" (32 GB) and CF cards as reliable, robust replacements for hard disks

Three PCI-104 expansion slots and a multitude of interfaces make the Microbox IPC427C universally applicable:

• Two Gigabit Ethernet connections (teaming-capable) for flexible communication with the control and field levels.
• Four USB 2.0 interfaces and an optional PROFIBUS connection or PROFINET interface (available soon) with three ports for a high degree of adaptability and flexibility for measuring, open-loop and closed-loop control tasks.

Its components such as PCI-104 modules (optional), battery, RAM or CompactFlash card can easily be replaced when installed.

It offers increased system availability through:

• Integrated monitoring functions for mass storage, battery, temperature and program execution
• Front-side LED solution for efficient self-diagnostics, e.g. for the status display of critical operating states
• Integrated power supply with electrical isolation and mains failure bridging.

Process data can be reliably saved in the event of a power failure thanks to a battery-buffered SRAM.

The IPC427C is also available as compact HMI IPC477C with brilliant displays.

With the front portrait assembly kit, the IPC427C is attached to the mounting wall with its smallest surface and thus saves valuable mounting space (at ambient temperatures of up to 50 °C). When using the kit, the user interfaces are arranged on the front for improved user-friendliness.
