Siemens Axiva to engineer and build thermal exhaust gas cleaning plants for Merck in DarmstadtSiemens Axiva is engineering and building two thermal exhaust gas cleaning plants for Merck KGaA in Darmstadt for the production of liquid crystals. Both plants have been designed as turnkey solutions and will be put into operation in the second half of 2003. Following a joint engineering phase for both plants, Siemens Axiva developed the detailed engineering and the technical documentation to obtain the official permits. The combustion technology is being adapted to the specific requirements and integrated into the system in cooperation with KEU GmbH, Krefeld. The process and safety technology aspects of both thermal exhaust gas cleaning plants have been harmonized so that all the exhaust gas can be cleaned by one plant during maintenance work on the other.Siemens Axiva, Frankfurt/Main, Germany, is a leading supplier of process engineering services to the process industry.
