Siemens Axiva is building a filling and freeze-dry system at Chiron Behring for vaccines and therapeutic agentsSiemens Axiva is planning and building a filling and freeze-dry system at Chiron Behring GmbH for currently marketed vaccines and therapeutic agents of the Chiron Corporation group of companies. The project - which includes rebuilding the clean rooms with the related heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems - will be implemented in an existing building at the Marburg, Germany location. Both new and existing process systems will be integrated in the new system. The first building phase is slated to go operational in mid-2004. Engineering services provided by Siemens Axiva range from design planning to basic and detail engineering to installation supervision and the qualification of the system. The new filling system must meet FDA requirements as well as European GMP regulations.Based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Siemens Axiva is a leading provider of process engineering and technical engineering services for the process industry, with 540 employees and annual sales of about 80 million euros (2002).
