| In the Porz factory of DEUTZ Motorenwerke AG Cologne,
the test stands for diesel engines in the development department were modernized
by Siemens Test Engineering Automotive, together with DEUTZ AG.
The test cells were completely renewed and equipped by Siemens with
the
following components:
- Digital test stand controller
- ET 200S modular test system
- CATSNT computer-aided test system for recording of measured
values and
automatic control of the test stand
One test stand was equipped for more stringent dynamic requirements by
Siemens as follows:
- Three-phase dynamometer 375 kW/1800 Nm
- AFE converter with low reaction on system
- T10FS torque measuring flange
Since we are dealing here with the modernization of test stands already
in operation, an exact time schedule must be observed for the conversion
of each cell in order to keep the downtime resulting from the conversion
as short as possible.
The first modernization phase has been completed and 6 test stands are
now in operation. A total of 24 motor test stands are to be modernized
up to the same state.
