CATSNT is a software system for computer aided operation of
testbeds with emphasis on the automotive and supplier industries. CATSNT
executes on standard personal computers with Windows operating systems
together with the proven Siemens industrial tehnology.
CATSNT automation system for testbeds in the automotive
sector
CATSNT offers the following functions for testing on engine, gear, vehicle
and component testbeds:
- Measured values
- Acquiring
- Visualizing
- Calculating
- Storing
- Testbed
- Testbed monitoring
- Fully automatic test cycles
The collected data is analyzed with the help of the system's powerful
reporting and graphic functionality. Several CATSNT systems can be linked
together via an Ethernet LAN and connected to a higher-level in-house
network.
CATSNT is the logical successor to the CATS test system which has served
the market superlatively for many years. CATSNT is suitable for serial
and development testbeds as well; multifaceted test tasks can be implemented
on a user specific basis.
With a cycle rate of up to 100 Hz CATSNT is implemented for measuring,
open-loop control, monitoring, closed-loop control, visualization and
recording with a standard PC without the need for additional hardware.
The modular construction of CATSNT allows it to be optimized for each
test situation and, of course, expanded for new tasks in the future.
Operation is designed in accordance with the technological tasks and
does not require any IT knowledge so that a short course will equip an
operator with all the necassary skills to independently set parameters
and operate the system.
CATSNT executes under Windows NT/ 2000/ XP and utilizes the complete
functional scope of the operating systems, e.g. for networking or for
data exchange with other Windows applications.
To strictly adhere to the processing cycle independent of the Windows
timing, a realtime extension (RTX) from Ardence (previously VenturCom)
has been integrated.
In most cases, CATS is applied with a subordinate testbed control which
handles the coordination, safety and control functions at testbed level,
meaning that the manual control level is also available independent of
the PC. With simple applications, CATSNT can also handle this task.
The CATSNT system generates the following cost benefits:
- Automated processes mean faster and better quality testing
- Automated tests permit a reduction in personnel levels
- Results can be automatically documented for Development or QA (Quality
Assurance)
- Reproducible tests allow development changes to be efficiently documented
- The test object and testbed process peripherals are monitored by standard
SIMATIC S7 hardware components your guarantee of an almost trouble-free
lifetime and a service concept offering excellent value for money
- The use of standard PCs means you can upgrade to new, more powerful
models at any time without hurting your investment
- Suitable for round-the-clock duty
