Gear test rigs

Gear and axle test rigs form oscillating systems thanks to the machine rotor rotational masses and the flexible connecting shafts. Siemens controls these flexibly coupled multi-mass systems with special closed-loop strategies. The high-speed, de-coupled individual controls that result from this allow realistic simulation of dynamic loads.

Vehicle test rigs (Research & Development)

For testing the complete vehicle, Siemens offers vehicle test rigs in a special design: A machine is available for each wheel with a drum applied direct to the shaft. This means that each wheel can be loaded direct. Steering wheel angle, slip, friction factor, and phase angle of the left / right wheel can also be specified in addition to the standard controller types.

CATS-NT test bench automation system

CATS-NT is a software package for the automation of test rigs in the automotive industry using conventional PCs and the Windows NT or Windows 2000 operating system.
CATS-NT is used to record, visualize, evaluate and store measured values and enables the fully automatic control of a test rig with setpoint specification including control of external devices and the management of inspection and test sequences and test results.
Based on its longstanding practical experience in the automotive and supplier industry, CATS-NT provides a multitude of solutions for automotive test engineering tasks and its user-friendly parameter masks allows simple adaptation to the wide range of practical tasks required during inspection and testing.
