With the help of SIDIS-W, diagnostic data produced by SIDIS-D and SIDIS-MBR are given to the workshop for the purpose of carrying out vehicle diagnostics. In an age of multimedia and information super-highways, users in their workshops are supported in their diagnosis by video sequences. Updating of diagnostic data then takes place either by Internet, an internal company network or by CD. SIDIS-W therefore considerably reduces service and warranty costs.

The most important function of SIDIS-W is the "Guided Troubleshooting". The system "guides" the user systematically to the location of a fault. It starts with an identification of the vehicle, by recognizing its structure and components. Subsequently, SIDIS-W reads out the fault codes. From this data, SIDIS-W automatically produces a test plan which provides the mechanic with an optimized work sequence. This significantly improves the efficiency of the diagnostic process and repair procedures.

SIDIS-W gives the mechanic a lot of freedom to conduct the test routine within the "Guided Troubleshooting" function. He can decide at every operating stage, based on his experience and knowledge, whether to follow the suggested operating routine or his own choice.

No more poring over manuals

All relevant up-to-date documents – e.g. installation locations, circuit diagrams of a power system, pin assignment of connectors etc. – are displayed alongside the tests as an essential aid for finding faults quickly. All information and data are already contained in the tester. Repair technicians using SIDIS-W no longer need to refer to cumbersome service manuals.

Additional functions complement guided troubleshooting

Additional functions of SIDIS-W are ECU direct test and vehicle instrumentation. This means additional functions which are stand-alone functions beside guided troubleshooting which can be selected separately.
