Modern parts supply using the SICALIS Material Call Management therefore builds on direct relationships between teams and suppliers: The assembly worker calls for the required parts directly, and these are made available from the store by means of logistic servers. For each type of part the system applies the optimum strategy. The result: secured supply direct to the installation point on the assembly line – and a lean buffer store in the production area.

SICALIS Material Call Management does more, however: evaluation and statistics functions are used for continually speeding up the procurement of materials and are the basis for documenting the quality of supply. Due to the permanent monitoring of the closed loops, the system is also capable of making the parts supply system aware of changes in the call behavior – and thus of an imminent breakdown in supply.
