These switches are unmanaged industrial Ethernet switches with various port characteristics. These products are the ideal and cost-optimized solution for setting up star or linear topologies with switching functionality in machine or system components.
Unique retaining collar and housing concept

All variants of the product have a rugged metal housing with degree of protection IP30 for space-saving installation in the control cabinet, on a standard DIN rail, on an S7-300 rail, or directly on the wall.
The integrated retaining collars on the RJ45 ports ensure, together with the PROFINET-compatible IE FC RJ45 connectors, continuous and reliable data communication. Through the interaction between the retaining collar and the RJ 45 plug, the RJ45 socket of the switch is relieved of tensile or bending stresses.

The switches of the SCALANCE X-100 product line have a redundant power supply (DC). Fault conditions can be reported to a controller (e.g. SIMATIC PLC) via a signal contact (S). LED displays permit quick on-site diagnostics of the power supply, port status and data traffic.
