TIM 4R / 4RDThe TIM 4R is the predecessor of the TIM 4R-IE and also has 2 combined RS232/RS485 interfaces. Instead of RJ45 ports, the TIM has an MPI terminal through which it can be connected to a PC in the control center or to a CPU in an S7-400 station. The TIM is also available with an optional DCF77 radio clock receiver (TIM 4RD). For universal applications
Flexible connection options
It has two combined RS232/RS485 interfaces for connection to standard WANs such as dedicated line, wireless or dial-up network. The two transmission paths can be different and operated independently or in redundant combination.
Reliable storage of important data
Storage of data message frames (approx. 10,000) including time stamp on TIM if the communication path is faulty or a partner has failed, and to reduce connection costs for the dial-up network.
