Mobile wireless componentsData transmission via the GSM mobile network is the alternative in the absence of other transmission media such as dedicated lines or telephone networks and wherever it would be too expensive to set up your own radio network. Of course a GSM signal that is sufficiently strong must be available at the location. The latest SINAUT quadband mobile wireless modem makes operation in the GSM networks available worldwide (850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz range). GSM networks offer different services that can be used for data transmission with SINAUT or other applications:
GSM modem MD720-3
Use with SINAUT MICRO:
Use with SINAUT ST7:
Use with TS Adapter II MD741-1 GPRS router
Use with SINAUT ST7:
Use for other applications, e.g. remote maintenance ANT 794-4MR antenna
GSM services
GSM networks offer different services that can be used for data transmission with SINAUT or other applications:
CSD (Circuit Switched Data)
SMS (Short Message Service)
GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) The maximum data transmission speed with GPRS is 54 Kbit/s. When the GPRS service is used, the control center or service center must be permanently reachable from the GPRS network, for example connected over a dedicated line to the GPRS provider or over a permanent connection to the Internet, for example using DSL. A direct GPRS connection from GPRS modem to GPRS modem is usually not possible or is offered by the GPRS provider as additional service subject to charge. With SINAUT, cross communication between two stations that communicate by means of GPRS is also possible without additional service: via the control center where the corresponding routing functions are offered. With SINAUT MICRO this function is included in the connection manager of the MICRO SC software. With SINAUT ST7, routing is implemented over a TIM module in the control center.
