TIM communication modulesThe TIM (Telecontrol Interface Module) communication module is the central component of the SINAUT ST7 hardware. It handles the data traffic for the S7 CPU or control center PC over the WAN, either with the SINAUT ST7 or SINAUT ST1 protocol. The TIM product range offers the right solutions for any telecontrol application. The TIM is fitted in an S7-300 housing and is available in three basic versions: TIM 3V-IE
TIM 4R-IE
It has two RS-232 interfaces to which a suitable external modem can be connected. Both WANs can be of the same type or different types, e.g. dedicated line plus telephone network, and can also be used as redundant transmission paths. The TIM 4R can also be fitted with a DCF77 radio clock receiver as an option (TIM 4RD). All stations in the SINAUT plant can then be supplied with the date and time from this module. TIM 4R
