CP 343-5

The CP 343-5 communications processor is the module of the SIMATIC S7-300 and SIMATIC C7 for communication using PROFIBUS FMS.

It relieves the CPU from communications tasks.

Communications options of the S7-300 over the CP 343-5 :

• FMS communication with PROFIBUS-FMS stations via PROFIBUS
• PG/OP communication
• S7 communication
• S5-compatible communication (SEND/RECEIVE)

The number of CPs that can be used is dependent on the performance range of the CPU and on the communications services used.

The communications processors are easy to configure and can be programmed using PROFIBUS. They offer cross-network communication between programming devices using S7 routing and can be replaced with the need for a programming device.
