Plant-wide process control using PCS7 over Ethernet

Customer profile:
AGU Planungsgesellschaft für Automatisierungs-, Gebäude- und Umwelttechnik mbh, Leverkusen, Germany, was founded on April 4,1992 and employs IT specialists, physicists, engineers and technicians. Their scope of supply of hardware and software spans power supply, building services, field and control systems, the HMI and plant management levels through to software development.

Customer requirement:
Power supply (cooling air and compressed air supplies) at 2 sites
Identical operator control stations for two sites plus one central control room
Conversion of old systems (S5) to S7 for the control room
Failure safety -> Ethernet in a ring with SCALANCE X 202-2 IRT
Bridging of long distances
Plant expansion during normal operation (interrupt ring -> add line and switch, reconnect ring)

SNMP OPC Server for diagnosis of the switches
