Description

The CP 443-5s are the communication modules of the SIMATIC S7-400 for the PROFIBUS FMS bus system or PROFIBUS DP V1 master. They relieve the CPU of communications tasks.

The communication module CP443-5 Basic offers the following communications services

PROFIBUS FMS
PG/OP communication
S7 communication
Open communication (SEND/ RECEIVE)

The similar-looking CP 443-5 Extended on the other hand includes the following communication services:

PROFIBUS DP-V1 master
PG/OP communication (OP multiplexing)
S7 communication (client, server)
Open communication (SEND/ RECEIVE)

The communications processors are easy to configure and can be programmed using PROFIBUS. They offer cross-network communication between programming devices using S7 routing and can be replaced without requiring a programming device.
