SCALANCE W Client Modules offer reliability, ruggedness and security for both non-critical communication such as diagnostics tasks, and for process-critical data such as failsafe transmission, over PROFINET with PROFIsafe.

The SCALANCE W Client Modules can be used to connect any Ethernet-capable devices, e.g. PN IO Devices such as ET 200 or PCs, wirelessly over IWLAN. The Client Modules can be stationary or can move around within the wireless network.

With all SCALANCE W Client Modules, the configuration data can be saved on an optional C-Plug. In the event of a fault, this configuration plug can simply be inserted in a new device without the need to reconfigure the device.

SCALANCE W744-1PRO
The Industrial Wireless LAN Ethernet client module SCALANCE W744-1PRO establishes the radio link of just one mobile device with an Ethernet interface to the wireless network. It is therefore optimally suited for connecting nodes with Industrial Ethernet interface which are to be integrated in Industrial Wireless LAN (IWLAN) radio network with reliable communication.

SCALANCE W746-1PRO
The SCALANCE W746-1PRO Ethernet client module administers the wireless connection for up to eight devices with Ethernet interface. It is possible to integrate mobile units with a small Ethernet network (up to 8 devices) into an IWLAN radio link. If one of the connected devices is exchanged, the Ethernet client module recognizes this immediately and administers the new address. This reduces plant downtimes and sources of error.

SCALANCE W747-1RR
The SCALANCE W747-1RR Ethernet Client Module has Rapid Roaming functionality, unlike the SCALANCE W746-1PRO Client Module. The SCALANCE W747-1RR Client Module permits real-time radio communication even if the nodes move across radio cells.

The Ethernet Client Modules are especially suitable for space-saving integration into the control cabinet. They correspond in their functionality to the Ethernet Client Modules for cabinet-free installation and they have a wireless module.

Ethernet Client Modules are available in three versions:

Ethernet Client Modules are characterized by IP30 degree of protection and an extended temperature range from -20 °C to +60 °C. In addition, the products are suitable for wall-mounting as well as for standard rail mounting (35 mm DIN) with the optional MS 2 mounting set, and for mounting on the S7-300 mounting rail.
